从9月19日零时开始，持有普通护照的新加坡公民到中国经商、观光、探亲或过境不超过15天，将能重新享有免签证的待遇。

中国外交部9月17下午3点半左右通过它的网站，宣布这项恢复免签安排的消息。

新加坡外交部发表文告说：“外交部和新加坡驻中国大使馆已经接获中国当局的通知。从9月19日起，持有新加坡普通护照的公民，到中国过境少过15天，将享有免签证的待遇。”

今年7月1日之前，新加坡公民前往中国享有停留期不超过15天免签证的待遇。不过，新加坡外交部4月下旬宣布，这项政策7月1日起暂停，直到北京奥林匹克运动会结束之后。

With effect from 19 September 2008, China will reinstate the visa-free facility for Singapore ordinary passport holders intending to travel to China for a period of 15 days or less.
