Scope of Role:
To build the profile of the Bank in China through enhanced media relations as well as other community and promotional events
• Develop a strategy, a plan, a policy and the guidelines on media relations for China
• Identify the right target audience in the Media for the Bank, and ensure such targets are regularly contacted and relationship with the Bank maintained through a systematic process
• Co-ordinate with various spokespersons of the Bank and prepare their media communications strategy/plan with key messages (with a special focus on WB or CB)
• Provide active support for business development and product promotions from Corporate Affairs’ perspective
• Enhance our overall image through community events
• Develop and enhance relationships with key media journalists and editors
• Lead the Corp. Comm. Team, which consists of 3 direct reports and 1 indirect report
• Work closely with the following key stakeholders
Internal
• CEO of China
• Chairman of China
• Branch Managers of each city/province
• COO of China
• Business Heads of China
• Group Public Affairs team
• Marketing teams of CB and WB
External
• Media/reporters (all) in China and the region
• Community/Chairty organisations
Business direction and information
Coordination and support
Coordination for various functions and meetings
Alignment with Group activities and direction
Press interviews
Developing key messages for media
Relationship building for the Bank
Building reputation for the Bank amongst the key targets
Key performance measurements:
• Annual clipping reports
• Feedback from CEO and business heads
• Funds raised or no of activities organized for the community
