Direct Reports:Regional CRE Head – Greater China
Location: Shanghai
The incumbent is responsible for credit risk assessment for Corporate Real Estate (CRE) section of the bank in PRC and H.K. (Greater China)
Key Responsibilities:
• Portfolio Management:
- Proactively monitor the quality of the CRE portfolios in the PRC and Hong Kong and conduct portfolio reviews and stress testing as and when appropriate;
- Monitor compliance with credit policy, relevant local regulations, business strategy and CRE underwriting standards;
- Instill a strong credit culture by setting the highest standards and demanding the same of others
• Risk Management:
- Provide guidance to business units on preparation of quality credit applications;
- Approve limit applications falling within delegated credit authority and support applications which require approval outside personal discretion;
- Approve breaches of local credit policy and to the extent permitted by the Group Credit Policy statement, breaches of Group Credit Policy;
- Formulate and obtain approval of in-country underwriting standards that are aligned with in-country portfolio standards;
- Undertake together with business units regular customer contact and site visits to understand customer's strategic priorities, opportunities, risks and requirements

• Credit Control and Monitoring:
- Compile and ensure timely and accurate submission of key CRE risk indicators and periodic CRE portfolio reports;
- Review past due and excesses on regular basis to ensure that the appropriate and timely actions are undertaken by business units
- Identify possible streamlining to enhance the effectiveness of the credit monitoring and control process.
Person Specifications:
• Accounting/ Finance degree with 12-15 years relevant experience which should include a minimum of 5 years experience in commercial real estate finance in PRC and/or Hong Kong.
• Well versed with local regulations governing real estate development and financing in the PRC and HK.
• Written and spoken language proficiency in Mandarin and English.
