Postponement of AGM 2020

2020-05-22 10:38:25

Dear Members,

In the light of the covid-19 pandemic, and the current “circuit-breaker” measures in Singapore, the current Management Committee of SingCham understands that it is not feasible to carry out its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the original scheduled date 26th May, 2020.

We seek your understanding and agreement to have the AGM postponed to a later date soonest and practically possible once the covid-19 control measures by Singapore and China are lifted or reduced.

At this year’s AGM 2020,  Election will be conducted for a new set of Management Committee members whose term of service will run for 24 months, based on a 2 year term.

Although alternative meeting arrangements have been considered including having the AGM held via webcast with electronic voting, but due to restrictions and constraints, it may not be feasible or practical to carry out, leaving us with no choice but to postpone the AGM.

As in the past practice, an Election Committee comprising SingCham’s Legal Advisor 曹智勇律师,  Mr Wong Choo Sin from Enterprise Singapore, as well as Ms Lu Xin from SingCham’s secretariat has been formed to ensure appropriate procedures.

We will monitor developments and keep all informed once a practical date can be set for AGM 2020.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Regards,
Dorothy Seet
