5 Mar, Breakfast Seminar: Cross-cultural Leadership & Improving Performance of Remote Teams
2009-3-6 14:08:20

More than 50 members from the CCBC Beijing Chapter People Strategy Committee, the British Chamber of Commerce, SingCham Beijing, and Rutgers Business School joined Mr. Robin Ball in a breakfast seminar on "Cross-cultural Leadership and Improving Performance of Remote teams" on 5 March.

Due to the current economic crisis, travel budgets are shrinking and it is becoming more important than ever for global operations to have high performing virtual teams. Effective communication skills are critical to managing cooperative relationships across time zones, functional areas and geographical lines.  This seminar explored the differing Eastern and Western values, beliefs and behaviors, and how these impact trust, commitment and communication in a virtual team environment. At this seminar, Robin shared with the audience some practical tips to improve the effectiveness and performance of virtual teams in organizations.
