The Representative Office (RO) has been used for over 20 years as the "getting to know Chines market" vehicle by foreign enterprises because it is easy to set up and convenient to "test the water". However, under the new regulations issued since 2010, more restrictions ard inposed and the RO may no longer be an optimal vehicle for foreign companies, so is it the time to close the RO now?
