In addition, Cindy has expertise in a broad range of human resource functional areas including performance management, talent management, training & development, and compensation & benefits. She has 20 years work experience with several well-recognized multinational companies working in senior roles in the area of Sales, Marketing and Human Resources. Cindy holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada where she majored in Marketing and Human Resources. She is currently Vice-Chair of the Canada China Business Council (CCBC) Beijing Chapter and Chair for the CCBC People Strategy Committee. Cindy is a current student of the EMBA program with Rutgers University. Yanzhen Zhang, is the Deputy General Manager of Beijing Foreign Enterprise Human Resources Service Co., Ltd. (FESCO). She has more than 15 years experience in the field of human resources third party administration. She holds an EMBA degree from KELLOGG-HKUST. Jim Leininger is a National Solution Leader of Watson Wyatt. He is primarily responsible for providing strategic consulting advice to clients in areas of organizational change, employee attitudes, attraction and retention, competencies and staff development. He is responsible for Watson Wyatt’s 2004-2005 WorkAsiaTM project, and also responsible for leading many of Watson Wyatt’s “Thought Leadership” projects in China, such as the Human Capital Index? and WorkChinaTM. In China, he has specialized in serving as the project manager for large organizational change projects, including for both Multi-National Companies and State-Owned Enterprises. Jim holds a Master’s degree in East Asian Studies with an emphasis in Chinese Business and Law from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in World History, Education and Psychology from Valparaiso University in Indiana. He has also undertaken intensive study courses in Mandarin at Tsinghua University in Beijing and Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan.
Dr. Gervais Lavoie, has been in China since the 1970's and is an expert on Sino-Canada relations. He has a wealth of experience and success in running startups in China. From 1993-2003, he was the CEO of Beijing Seanoble Food, a joint venture with A. Lassonde Inc. Canada for fruit juice manufacturing. He was instrumental to building the brand Rougemont to the fifth best-known brand in China. He is currently serving as the CEO of Fruits & Passion China, COO of China Retail Hong Kong, and as a Senior Consultant for Quam Financial Services Group Hong Kong. Dr. Lavoie holds a Ph.D, Masters, and Bachelors degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Montreal. Furthermore, he has also completed post-doctoral studies in Regional Development at the University of Paris X France, and has undertaken intensive studies in Modern History at Beijing University.
