How Traders Can Benefit from CSFTA ?
IE Singapore and Singcham jointly bring to you a seminar on China-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (CSFTA). We are pleased to invite companies from various industries such as electronics, food and plastics, to attend this seminar and understand the CSFTA in greater depth.
The CSFTA signed between Singapore and China on 23 October 2008 in Beijing has entered into force on 1 January 2009. This is the first comprehensive bilateral FTA concluded by China with an Asian country covering areas ranging from trade in goods and services to investment and economic cooperation.
Upon entry-into-force on 1 January 2009, more than 85% of Singapore's exports to China became tariff-free whereas all Chinese exports to Singapore are granted tariff-free access. By 1 January 2010, 95% of Singapore’s exports to China will be tariff-free. Singapore and China will also liberalize various services sectors such as business services, hospital services and education services. The CSFTA also promotes greater movement of business persons between the two countries.
Mr. Michael Chang, Senior Manager, Domestic Exports & Re-Exports Group from International Enterprise Singapore will speak on "How Traders can Benefit from CSFTA" providing an overview of the CSFTA, Trade in Goods, Rules of Origin and Trade in Services. We are also pleased to invite the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau to share with you on Beijing’s investment environment, opportunities and policies for foreign investments during this difficult economic climate.
