Seminar Content:
SingCham is delighted to invite you for a seminar on “Managing Intellectual Property (IP) in China”. The seminar shall have two outstanding speakers who are leaders in their fields. Mr. Edouard Schmitt zur Höhe who will focus on registration and protective measures that are required in order to prevent infringements of the IP rights (including Administrative enforcement) while Mr. Jun Ji – one of Chine top IP litigators, will focus on successful enforcement of the IP rights via civil and criminal litigation. Both speakers shall share with the audience some of their rich practical experience in actual cases that they handled.
The Speakers:
Edouard Schmitt zur Höhe has been advising on intellectual property rights in Asia for over 12 years. He has worked on a wide range of cases throughout Asia including both contentious and non-contentious work. Edouard specializes in providing clients with comprehensive IP strategies throughout the region based on their needs and IP issues. He speaks English, French, Russian, Chinese and Italian.
Mr. Jun Ji is a graduate of the top law schools in three jurisdictions; Peking University, Harvard Law School, and Tokyo University. He practiced law in China, USA and Japan in leading law firms before he established Broad & Bright as a co-founder. Mr. Jun is specialized in litigation and FDI with special focus on IP. In 2008, Broad & Bright and Mr. Jun received the 2008 Asia-pacific trademark case award from the British Magazine “Managing IP” for the high-profile litigation case that they represented Yamaha Motor verses Zhejiang Huatian Industry. This case was judged by the supreme court of China and it involved the highest ever compensation ordered in trademark case to a foreign company.
