About Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City 关于中新天津生态城
Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City project is a flagship collaboration between China and Singapore following Suzhou Industrial Park. The two countries share the same vision to build together an eco-city that is resource-efficient and environment-friendly, fostering economic, social and environmental harmony to bring about a vibrant thriving society - a model for sustainable development that is practical and scalable for the other cities in China and the world to replicate.
The 30-sq km project is located in the Tianjin Binhai New Area (40 km away from Tianjin city centre). It is envisioned to create a harmonious and sustainable community that meets the needs of an urbanising China and will be a modern township where 350,000 residents can live, work and play.
When completed, the 4-sq km Start-Up Area will be home to 26,500 households, with the first batch of residents expected to move in around 2011.
Looking into the future, Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City is committed to becoming a platform for innovation, integrating application of eco technologies to serve as a base and natural adoption ground for environmental technologies. Guided by 24 key performance indicators, it aims to become a model for resource-conserving, eco-friendly yet affordable and liveable new city, and a "window" for international exchanges and exhibitions in environmental issues.
In the current stage of development, SSTEC, the master developer for the Tianjin Eco-City, is looking for green solutions and technologies especially in green buildings and clean technologies. It hopes to draw investments on manufacturing, research & development and testbedding projects in industries targeting at renewable energy, clean tech, green buildings, green transport, waste management, water and environment to create an economic vibrancy.
天津生态城是中国与新加坡两国间的标志性开发项目。生态城坐落于天津滨海新区（距离天津市中心40公里）。占地30平方公里的生态城将建成一个可持续发展的和谐社区，以满足中国城市化发展的需求。生态城将成为一个可供350,000居民生活、工作和休闲的现代化城镇。
4平方公里起步区建成后，将有26,500个家庭落户生态城。第一批居民将于2011年前后入住。
