Introduction to Honghe Prefecture
Since ancient times, Honghe has been an important crossroad linking Yunnan and China to Southeast Asia and South Asia.
Honghe has very rich resources, and is one of the important production areas of ferrous metals and tropical cash crops. Its tin products ranks first in China. Its crop porduction includes padi, corn, tobacco, groundnuts, and numerous types of timber, tea, spices, etc.
Industrial development in Honghe is progressing well, with energy, power generation, ferrous metals, chemicals, and tobacco as the pillar industries. With a high proportion of minority residency, Honghe has excellent tourism resources.

红河州简介
中国红河，一个传说中黄金遍地的宝地，演绎着亘古不变的财富神话，千百年来，这里就是云南乃至中国大西南地区沟通东南亚、南亚的咽喉之地，交通要冲。
红河两岸资源极其丰富，是云南省有色金属和热带、亚热带经济作物的重要基地之一。锡产量居全国第一。个旧市被誉为中国的"锡都"。作物以稻谷、玉米为主，经济作物以烤烟、花生、油菜为主。盛产虫胶、草果、棕片、茶叶、香料、南药、剑麻等经济林木。

红河州，一块充满诗情画意的净土，旅游资源十分丰富，拥有世界一绝的红河哈尼梯田，中原文化与边地文化巧妙融合的建水历史文化名城、河口跨境旅游等特色景观。哈尼族的“苦扎扎”节、“长街宴”，彝族的“火把节”与传统的“祭火活动”，苗族的“采花山”，瑶族的“盘王节”，傣族的“泼水节”与“男人节”等等，造就了红河州“地上地下皆是景，各族群众天天都在过民族节”的热闹氛围。
